If you like swimming in the sea, but don’t have a diving license, this could be the gadget for you. The ‘Scorkl’ is an amazing new invention that holds enough air for you to spend up to ten minutes underwater without having to come up for air.
The design is very simple to look at – it’s simply a pressurised bottle fitted with a mouth piece, with a handy pressure gauge so you can see how much air you have left. Much more simple than scuba gear!
The idea behind the Scorkl is to provide a hassle-free way to swim underwater. The makers say that it gives ‘a much more natural diving experience’ compared to scuba because of the lack of complicated equipment. Traditional diving gear can also be expensive to buy or rent, as well as bulky to transport, so this device really opens up the underwater world to anyone.
Scorkl can be re-used too by simply refilling it, either from a scuba tank (which is much faster) or by hand (and for free!) using a hand pump.
The device is on Kickstarter right now, and is available to order.
