We’ve got another contender for the most overly complicated solution to a simple problem – a deodorising clothes hanger!
The hanger works by electrolysing tiny water particles (smaller than steam, even) and passing them through the fabric, removing the source of any smells that are clinging to the fabric.
The gadget won’t do anything to stains or dirt, but will freshen up the clothing by removing sweat or food smells. An electronic clothes hanger might sound a bit silly, but the technology itself does reportedly work very well at removing clinging odours. It could theoretically be a useful gadget to have on hand to freshen up your suits or dry-clean-only clothing just before they’re needed.
However it’s not much good for last-minute clothing decisions, as it needs between five and seven hours to work its magic. It also doesn’t come cheap – based on its price in Japan, it’s estimated that it will cost around $180, or 160€, if and when it reaches the US and Europe.
So…you might prefer to just get your clothes washed or dry-cleaned!
