You can speak to your Android device to do things like search, get directions, and send messages.
Start using your voice
- Open the Google Search app .
- Say “Ok Google” or touch the microphone icon .
Note: If you have Audio History turned on, Google will send a recording of the phrase “Ok Google” and a few seconds before that to Google’s servers.
Voice tips
For most of these tips, you need to be using Android 4.1+ in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, or Brazilian Portuguese. Some voice actions are not available in all languages and countries.
