Having 2 dogs, I find myself sweeping up at home everyday just to clear up the dog hair. Sitting down with a coffee, pleased with myself that the place is looking better alone comes a tumbleweed of dog hair!
Now I do brush my dogs and tried several different brushes in the past, but which are the best dog brushes?
Glove Grooming
This one appealed to me as it is like stroking your dog, so good for the dog as most do love a good stroke and the therapeutic value to you the human.
It was good for Ruby, the short hair one. To be fair she does not malt all that much, so this was a perfect solution. However, Roxy a Portuguese cattle dog (mixed with a little bit of this and that!) Her coat is thick and gets everywhere…
The grooming glove was not the solution here other than it helped me pluck chunks of hair out of Roxy. Believe me that sounds worst than it was, by no means she was not left bold after her plucking!
Self-Cleaning Brush
Unfortunately, this did not self-clean my dogs hehe! But I did like the idea of it been easy to remove the dog hair from the brush itself.
This was a little harsh for Ruby the short haired one, but I might have had the wrong size also for her. With stainless-steel spikes (they are not sharp) set at an angle that should give you the best results. This was a much better brush for Roxy.
The self-cleaning part is a simple button you press on the back of the brush, the soft spikes retract into the brush and the hair stays on the top of the brush making it easier for you to remove and throw away.
This is a link to where i got mine, but you can use your internet to search for your own.
Groomi
Now my expectations were high with this one after watching a TikTok video of Pablo an English Bull Dog that receives random gifts from people in his PO Box (Yes, maybe a little strange to some of us but he has thousands of followers) Amongst all the good boy treats was a new brush.
I went straight to the internet and google searched Groomi (I have made it easy for you, just click on the name) Now I do have to say it is a little more expensive than the glove and brush but thought, if it means I only must sweep every other day instead of every day, time saved will be worth it. Also, if you go to the bottom of the webpage, you can get a discount by entering your email address. (Which they will have if you order anyway)
It claims that it will reduce shedding by up to 95% A strong and durable handle with a lifetime guarantee, plus it is made with recycled plastic.
This defiantly met my expectations. Both dogs loved it and worked good on both, it has reduced the number of times I have to sweep up and Roxy is also happier with her shiny coat. The other bonus is in summertime, she may not pant as much!
